Half a century on from Ken Loach’s ground-breaking TV drama, Cathy Come Home (above), which revealed the desperate state of housing in 1960s Britain, Sarah Montague hears the harrowing personal stories that resonate behind today’s headlines.

In After Cathy, Sarah charts the journeys of three homeless people over the course of 2016, capturing through powerful audio diary recordings, a story that is both grim in its stark reality and uplifting in the strength of spirit of its subjects.
