Following their sell-out UK and Australian tour Robin Ince will once again join forces with Brian Cox to star in Eric Idles’ The Entire Universe this Christmas on the BBC.
The Entire Universe will be a unique collaboration, combining fascinating facts about the birth of the universe with larger-than-life comedy characters penned by the legendary Eric Idle. Set in the infamous Rutland Weekend Television studio, what starts out as an auspicious scientific Christmas lecture soon becomes a major musical, choreographed by Arlene Philips. Robin will at the centre of it all attempting to keep order, surrounded by a cast which includes Warwick Davis, Noel Fielding and Hannah Waddingham. The result is an extraordinary explosion of comedy, music and dance depicting the birth of The Entire Universe – in just one hour.
Eric Idle says: “I am very pleased that Rutland Weekend Television is back on BBC TV with a Christmas Special only 41 years after its last one. The world’s smallest TV station takes on the world’s largest subject: the entire universe.”
The Entire Universe will be on BBC Two this Christmas.
