Last night on BBC Radio 2 Jeremy Vine took a very personal look at the ‘Beast of Bolsover’.

When his mother developed dementia in the 1980s, MP Dennis Skinner witnessed the power of singing and its effects on the illness.

In the touching documentary, as part of the BBC’s Dementia Awareness Week, Jeremy talks with Dennis about the disease and it’s ramifications, and gets a front row seat as the MP flexes his vocal chords at the Shire Vale Resource Centre in Derbyshire, where he is a regular visitor.
