Sarah is currently the lead anchor on BBC Radio 4’s the World At One, after presenting their flagship Today Programme for the past eighteen years. She also presents HARDtalk on BBC World Television. In nearly 20 years at the BBC she has presented many of its television news programmes from Bulletins to Newsnight and BBC Breakfast. She was also one of the first presenters on the News Channel. On radio she was responsible for the recent series The Educators and My Teacher is an App.

 

Before becoming a journalist Sarah studied biology at Bristol University. After university she became a stockbroker for County NatWest, and moved on to be a Eurobond dealer with NatWest Capital Markets. At the age of 24 she made the leap into journalism, first working as a reporter and presenter at Channel Television in both Guernsey and Jersey.

 

In 1994 she moved to London as a freelance television news reporter. She soon joined the staff of Reuters and then moved to Sky News. It was in 1997 that she joined the BBC .
