Nikki is a broadcaster with a passion for celebrating the latest and greatest across arts and culture and the stories of extraordinary people. Describing herself as ‘glocal’ as her work is both global and local, Nikki uses her heritage, insatiable curiosity and cultural awareness to craft interviews that make all her guests shine.

 

She can be heard every weekend at the helm of BBC Radio 4’s Saturday Live, alongside Rev Richard Coles bringing the audience fascinating stories and remarkable people. Over on BBC Word Service Nikki can be heard weekly as the ‘BBCs Culture courier’ hosting the The Arts Hour, the flagship arts and culture programme, which once a month becomes The Arts Hour On Tour (pre COVID), travelled across the globe to different countries to bring the hottest names, talents and issues to the airwaves and to 97 million listeners.

 

Nikki has been seen on TV presenting BBC2’s topical weekly arts and entertainment programme, Front Row as well as  hosting Riz Ahmed: Road to Englistan where she had an in-depth interview with the actor discussing his roots, career and what drives him. She has also been a brilliant panellist on QI.

 

Born to an Indian father and English mother, Nikki began her career in Mumbai as both a stage and film actress and worked with some of India’s finest directors.
Her foray into the world of presenting began when Channel 4 gave her a talk show, Bombay Chat and its success prompted Star TV in Asia to give her a primetime chat show called Nikki Tonight which became Asia’s most widely viewed and also most controversial show.

 

In her spare time she watches inordinate amounts of television.
