Carrie Scott presented The Art Show on Sky Arts – a show which celebrates and demystifies art. As a key member of the show’s team, Carrie has interviewed a number of the world’s leading artists. These include Ryan Gander, Yinka Shonibare, Bharti Kher and Rashid Johnson. As a prominent curator and art historian herself, Carrie was able to tap into her own expert knowledge in order to achieve honest, informative and unique responses from each of these art giants.
In addition to her television work, Carrie worked alongside acclaimed and visionary fashion photographer Nick Knight since 2009, with whom she developed the award winning In Your Face interview series. Using her bold, informed, and straight-to-the-point style, Carrie was able to extract from each of her interviewees a ‘living portrait,’ the result of which sees the mindset of each artist interviewed brought to life.
Outside of television, the majority of Carrie’s career has been spent in the Arts, developing Modern and Contemporary collections throughout Europe, the United States and Asia. She has worked with numerous collectors and businesses, helping them to establish both personal and corporate art collections. Following successful and noted curating positions at the Hedreen Gallery at Seattle’s Lee Centre for the Arts, James Harris Gallery Seattle (Director) and Nicole Klagsburn Gallery New York (Director), Carrie established Carrie Scott & Partners in 2008 which enabled her to create her own platform from which to continue her work in the art space.
Carrie has a Master’s in Art History from the University of Washington, where she undertook scholarship focusing on Sound Art. She has published many articles, not just on art but also on music and women’s issues, of which she is a passionate and engaged supporter. Carrie has dual UK/USA citizenship which gives her the unique ability to engage with but also easily pivot easily both audiences.
