  • A prolific writer and composer, Chris is probably best known as a children’s television presenter in the seventies and eighties. Chris wrote and presented his own shows We’ll Tell You a Story and Flicks which ran on Thames TV for over ten years.

     
     

    He is still involved in writing for children and most recently Chris has written Fimbles which is currently being aired on BBC1 weekdays. His educational series Numbertime written for the BBC gained the Royal Television Society Award for the Best Educational Programme.

    Other educational series he has written include El Nombre, Science Challenge, Megamaths, and Infant Science.

    His writing credits for children’s television include; Flipflops, Altogether Now, Treasure Box, Rainbow, Knock Knock, Umbrella, Gather round, Wiz-Bang, TVK and The D.J.Kat Show.

    Chris has co-written numerous pantomimes and children’s shows for the theatre with his actress wife Jeanette Ranger. Their musical Monty Moonbeam’s Magnificent Mission won the TMA/Martini Award for Best Show for Young People.

    Chris also adapted, with Mike Fields, the J.L Carr novel How Steeple Sinderby Won the FA Cup, which ran at the Mermaid Theatre for six months. Big Girls, his stage collaboration with Colin Davis, about slimming clubs previewed at The Wimbledon Theatre last November to great critical acclaim.

    Chris has also written numerous corporate videos for clients such as Lloyds Bank and 3M and most recently a distance learning package for Thames Valley Police on how to handle the media entitled Feed The Sharks.
