Gavin’s latest book is entitled, Powerplay, and was published last August.     Gavin began his career on the Belfast Telegraph in 1976, and in 1977 joined the BBC as a Northern Ireland reporter. Gavin was later made Washington correspondent, and then Chief North America correspondent, covering the administrations of both George H. W. Bush and Bill Clinton.
