Gavin joined the presenting team of Newsnight in January 2003, and has anchored BBC News 24 since 1997.
Gavin’s latest book is entitled, Powerplay, and was published last August.

Gavin began his career on the Belfast Telegraph in 1976, and in 1977 joined the BBC as a Northern Ireland reporter. Gavin was later made Washington correspondent, and then Chief North America correspondent, covering the administrations of both George H. W. Bush and Bill Clinton.
